Description

Aimed at complete beginners to willow weaving (or any form of crafting) this workshop will teach you the basics of working with willow.  You’ll learn about the different types of willow and how to prepare them for weaving, before creating your own Catalan platter.   Also called a tension tray, this style of platter looks impressive yet is surprisingly easy to make.

This workshop is suitable for those with no crafting experience, or those who are experienced crafters but have never tried willow weaving.  No prior experience is necessary; you will be guided and supported throughout the process.

About the Day

Workshop runs 1pm until 4 pm and includes refreshments.

Kit and Requirements

All materials and equipment will be provided.  £7 to cover the cost of willow is payable to the tutor on the day.

Not essential, but if you have access to dogwood shrubs, you may wish to bring some pieces with you – their brightly coloured bark can add an interesting design feature to your platter.  Pieces need to be approximately 40-50 cm long, no more than 1 cm in diameter and as straight as possible.

This workshop is suitable for all.

If you have answered yes and would like to discuss your requirements then please get in touch.
