Musician
With a timeless acoustic sound and soulful voice South-West Scotland Singer/Songwriter Lewis Fergusson rose to local acclaim in 2010 with his first release EP ‘Head Keeps Spinning’. Combining the traditions of folk, country, blues and rock Lewis draws favourable comparisons to Bob Dylan, Neil Young and Townes Van Zandt. His 2nd EP ‘Flower in the dark’ received excellent reviews in the national press further consolidating his appeal. 2023/24 saw the successful digital release of singles The Bore Tide, Lioness and Old Wound.
Lewis was born and raised in Dumfries, Scotland and was brought up listening to a wide range of music from Americana, blues, soul, world and rock & roll, sounds that would permeate his own music. He has received national recognition for his music after playing live on STV and with airplay on BBC radio Scotland and other national radio stations. He played live on BBC radio Cambridgeshire during an interview with BBC radio DJ Nick Barraclough following a performance at the Cambridge Folk Festival. His live performances have been hailed by Martin & Eliza Carthy, Mike Heron, Dick Gaughan and Alabama 3 all of whom he has supported. Lewis wears his heart on his sleeve and with his rootsy, laid back style can bring a tear, a smile and a stomp of the foot. He has a lot more music to come.
