Description

This quilter’s carry over the shoulder bag allows you to carry your cutting board and up to a 17” square ruler on the inside of the bag, your 6” x 24” and your 12 ½” square on the front side of your bag and your small 6 ½” square ruler, rotary cutter and your scissors (and the odd biscuit) on the back facing side of the bag.

Ann Hill

Ann has been professionally teaching quilt making for 15 years. She has exhibited her work around the world, currently with an exhibition touring America and another about to start touring 40 countries. Ann is quilter in residence at Alzheimer Scotland and has been awarded a Point of Light and a British Empire medal for her services to Alzheimers, both through working with those living with dementia and raising awareness through quilting exhibitions.

Ann teaches beginners and experienced quilters in the fundamentals of quilting and progress through traditional, modern and contemporary quilting. She runs weekly classes in Dumfries and Galloway. Ann is Chair of Shambellie Quilters who are responsible for organising quilt festivals in autumn and May each year.

About the Day

The workshop will take place from 10am to 4pm and refreshments will be provided throughout the day including tea/coffee and freshly prepared lunch by our partners at Cloverglen.

Parking is available at the House by following the drive.

This workshop is in the Gallery which is on the second floor.

This is only accessible via stairs with no lift access available. If you have any access needs and would like to attend please let us know and we will accommodate you.

Kit and Requirements

Sewing machine with walking foot and ¼” foot: Cutting mat, rulers and rotary cutter.  Threads to match any fabrics you bring.  Basic sewing machines and equipment are available from Shambellie House by prior request.

If you are suppling your own fabric you will need:

Main body of bag fabric requirements:

Front pocket – 22” x 24”

Back pocket – 8” x 22”

Main body of bag – 2 pieces at 22” x 26”

Linings:

Front pocket – 22” x 25”

Back pocket – 9” x 22”

Lining for main bag – 2 pieces at 22” x 27”

(the handles come out the left over pieces)

1/2m wadding

Fabric packs can be provided at an extra cost of £35 once enough notice of quantities is given.
