Support for Carers at Shambellie House

Shambellie House is delighted to announce that we have secured funding for carers of people over the age of 21 from the Creative Breaks programme, supported by the Scottish Government. For a limited time we are able to offer subsidised access to creative workshops and events at Shambellie House for people who are caring for adults over the age of 21. Carers will pay a small contribution to the workshop cost.

Shambellie House provides something for everyone. We offer a range of workshops in visual arts, applied crafts, textiles and quilting, photography and film, writing and storytelling as well as hosting open days events, festivals, musical evenings and exhibitions. We currently have have a specific programme aimed at young people, funded by the Holywood Trust, which would benefit young carers. Anyone who is caring for an adult over the age of 21 can book workshops available on our website, with a contribution paid by the Creative Breaks funding programme. Carers can come by themselves or book two spaces and come with the person they care for.

Choose your workshop online at then simply tick the box to say you are a carer and enter the code ‘carerdiscount‘ on the booking page. The discount will automatically be applied.

A key element of this funding is to deliver bespoke group sessions tailored to groups of carers. We have a wide range of tutors who work with us and we can can work with groups to develop a day experience or a series of workshops. Please get in touch with your request at info@shambelliehouse.org quoting ‘ShortBreaksFund’.

The Creative Break funded project runs until September 2024 with a limited number of funded places available for workshops at Shambellie House . Please visit the Short Breaks Fund website for more information on how Shared Care Scotland is working towards a Scotland where everyone who receives support or provides unpaid care can live a full and satisfying life.
