Shambellie House Covid Precautions

Shambellie House Trust is committed to the safety of our visitors, tutors and staff and are registered with the We’re Good to Go scheme.  We follow government guidance and industry Covid 19 guidelines, have a risk assessment in place and a process to maintain cleanliness and social distancing. When you attend a course at Shambellie House, course participants have exclusive use of the building.

Before you attend a course

  • We welcome visitors who are double vaccinated.
  • Please do not travel to Shambellie House if you have symptoms or are told you need to isolate.
  • If you are concerned you may have symptoms then please take a lateral flow test before your visit.

At Shambellie House you will:

  • Wear a face covering when moving around inside the building or when in close proximity to others.  You may remove your face covering during a course when seated on the instruction of your tutor.
  • Observe social distancing at all times.
  • Wash your hands and use the hand sanitiser regularly.
  • Tutors will open windows and doors prior to the course, please do not close unless permitted by the tutor or a member of staff.
  • Clean down your work surface at the end of the day.

At Shambellie House we will:

  • Provide handwashing facilities and hand sanitisers at key points around the house.
  • Provide cleaning materials within your workspace.
  • Provide distance between desks and seating.
  • Provide you with your own table/workstation, unless you have specifically booked as a bubble.
  • Have a regular cleaning routine particularly disinfecting touch points and cleaning toilets frequently throughout the day.
  • Allow time between courses for a deep clean of workspaces.
  • Wear face coverings when moving around the building.
  • Provide lunch, if part of the course, on a tray which can be taken to your desk in the workroom or taken out into the garden.
  • Provide you with a mug which will be yours for the duration of the course.  Hot drinks will be served in your workroom.
  • Put in place sanitising procedures for any ‘shared use’ tools or equipment and provide tools for each student when possible.
  • If appropriate the tutor can use our camera system and screen to demonstrate to the group, including close ups of detailed work, so you won’t have to gather around their work table.
  • Maintain and keep test and trace details for all participants for 21 days after a visit.
