Wellbeing Through Creativity Sessions are a great success
Supported by the Scottish Government’s Community Mental Health and Wellbeing fund, the Wellbeing through Creativity programme has got off to a great start. Expert local musician Wendy Stewart led a Come and Try the Harp taster session which ended with some beautiful sounds echoing around Shambellie House. Helen Welsh ran her first Embroidery for Mindfulness session – another 3 are planned – the next session is on 12 July. The theme is ‘Look closer’ – different embroidery stitches to create interest and texture, followed by a session looking at adornments, adding beads, sequins buttons and other embellishments to create a tactile surface, and then reverse applique; working in layers. Being multi-talented, Helen is also running a torn paper collage workshop. Frank Hayes is leading a series of drawing workshops including automatic drawing, zen drawing, frottage and collage and print nature. Derek Banks will help you create simple jewellery or make a chainmaille bracelet. For more information visit https://www.shambelliehouse.org/category/courses/wellbeing/.
