Firelight Trio

Firelight Trio is a mighty group featuring Fatea instrumentalist of the Year 2023 Gavin Marwick (fiddle), groovily inventive accordionist/pianist Phil Alexander (Moishe’s Bagel), and Ruth Morris (Outlander, HBO) on the beautiful Swedish nyckelharpa. They play European music that is evocative, inventive, wide-ranging, and endlessly exciting – a rich tapestry of lively Swedish polskas and Scottish reels, lilting French waltzes, toe-tapping klezmer, and dazzling original tunes. ‘A veritable roots music supergroup’ (RnR magazine). ‘Deeply expressive, impressively virtuosic and cheekily sardonic, all in perfect measure’ (Songlines). ‘Simply splendid. Three musical giants’ (RnR). ‘Achingly beautiful’ (Fatea). Don’t miss them!

As well as being highly acclaimed musicians they are also exceptionally good teachers. This is the second folk weekend at Shambellie House with the first receiving five star reviews and a request for more!
