Description

An introduction to nature journalling with Freya Skinner

Date: Saturday 23rd May 2026

Time: 10am to 1pm

Cost: £48  (Cost includes £3 for materials which will be provided)

During this relaxed morning session, we’ll spend time outdoors exploring the grounds of Shambellie House, slowing down to observe the small details of the season. Through simple drawing exercises, note-taking, and guided prompts, you’ll learn how to record plants, textures, colours, and moments from the landscape in your own nature journal. No previous drawing experience is needed — the focus is on curiosity, observation, and developing a personal practice of noticing the natural world.

Please note:

The day includes a slow, guided outdoor walk on natural ground. Paths may be uneven, muddy, or grassy depending on weather conditions.

No previous drawing or art experience necessary, just a willingness to experiment.

Materials will be provided. Please let us know if you have sensory sensitivities or allergies we should be aware of.

Please wear sensible shoes and bring a waterproof jacket as we will be outdoors for part of the workshop.
