| Step into the magical world of theatre and costume design in this creative workshop inspired by the theatre costume exhibition at Shambellie House.
Children will transform a simple wooden clothes peg into a character of their own imagination. They’ll paint their peg character, add colourful yarn hair and design a costume using a selection of fabrics, ribbons and decorative trims. Will their character be a brave explorer, a woodland princess, a daring pirate, a mischievous fairy, a famous actor or someone entirely new? The choice is theirs!
Along the way, children will discover how costumes help bring stories and characters to life, just as they do on stage. Every peg character will be completely unique and ready to take home at the end of the session.
A wonderful workshop for children (aged 7 and over) who love storytelling, dressing up, crafting and letting their imaginations run free.
Make a day of it! In the afternoon we have another activity session, The Masquerade (bookable separately). Why not bring a packed lunch and stay for the day?
Parent’s please note: this session is suitable for unaccompanied children aged 7 years or over. Parents must sign children in and out of the session and leave an emergency contact number. Session leaders are members of Disclosure Scotland Protection of Vulnerable Groups Scheme.
