Description
Foraged Cyanotypes Workshop with William Niven
Date: Sunday 2nd August 2026
Time: 11am – 3pm
Cost: £45
Come and unleash your creativity for a day as you learn the photographic process of cyanotype printmaking. No experience needed.
Cyanotypes are one of the oldest photographic printing processes in the history of photography. The distinctive feature of the print is its shade of cyan blue.
Learn from local photographer William Niven on how to make your own photographic prints through the process of cyanotype print making. We will spend the day experimenting with making our own prints from found objects foraged from the grounds of Shambellie House (no camera equipment is needed, just your creative minds).
All materials are provided for you but please feel free to bring objects to create cyanotypes with – objects that are flat and small tend to work best.
EQUIPMENT/SET UP REQUIREMENTS:
- Pre-filled water trays, access to outdoor areas, hairdryers, brushes, access to running water, glass jars, and pens.
- Bring a packed lunch or buy lunch for the in-house cafe.
