Time: 1-5pm

Discover the art of creating beautiful hand-poured container candles that rival the quality of premium brands.  In this hands-on workshop you’ll learn the secrets of selecting the right wax, wick, fragrance and container to create candles that look stunning, burn beautifully and fill your home with wonderful scent.

Working with both natural soy wax and the increasingly popular wax sand, you’ll discover the unique qualities of each medium and when to use them.  You’ll learn how different waxes behave, how to choose the correct wick for your vessel, and how fragrance oils influence both scent throw and performance.  Along the way, we’ll share plenty of tips to help you achieve smooth finishes, even burns and long-lasting candles.

As well as making your candles, we’ll cover the essential safety considerations every candle maker should know, including safe burning practices, fragrance usage, container selection and the importance of correct product labelling.  Whether you’re making candles for your own home or as thoughtful handmade gifts, you’ll leave with the confidence to continue creating safely.

By the end of the workshop you’ll have created two beautiful container candles to take home—one made with traditional poured soy wax and another using versatile wax sand—together with the knowledge and inspiration to continue your candle-making journey.
