An opportunity to try printmaking using recycled materials. Make a textural relief plate that can be inked to produce bold, expressive prints.

Essential Information

Please wear old clothes or bring an apron/old shirt or overall. The inks although washable, will stain clothing.

MATERIALS: There will be an additional £3 fee to be paid directly to the artist on the day to cover the costs of materials used.

Description

A opportunity to try printmaking using recycled materials. Make a textural relief plate that can be inked to produce bold, expressive prints.

Description

You will select different recycled materials to build up and glue to your board, which will become the surface you will print from. Artist tutor Julie Stephen will show you how to add ink to the surface and you will print by hand onto a selection of paper and card.

Julie Stephen is a freelance illustrator, fine art printmaker and art tutor. Julie worked as an art and design teacher for over 20 years but is now focussing on her own visual art business, The Artful Corner.  Julie also creates ethereal hand pulled gel prints, layering colours, shapes and textures inspired by forest walks, trips to the shore and sunlight through trees.
