Discover the colour, energy and expressive techniques of “Bunty” Cadell in this immersive weekend workshop at Shambellie House. Through guided exercises and supportive teaching, you’ll explore Cadell’s artistic approach while developing your own confidence and creativity.

What to Expect
Over the course of the weekend, you will:
- Build strong observational drawing skills through structured exercises.
- Learn key techniques in perspective including spherical perspective, and effective compositional planning.
- Deepen your understanding of tonal values to create convincing depth and dimension.
- Explore colour theory and colour mixing, gaining insight into Cadell’s distinctive palette and how he used colour to evoke atmosphere and emotion.
- Enjoy dedicated painting time in a relaxed, informal setting with like-minded people, supported by one-to-one guidance, practical demonstrations, and plenty of encouragement.
By the end of the workshop, you will be able to apply Cadell’s techniques to create still life work that feels vibrant, expressive and uniquely your own.
